Appearance: It is white to yellow oily liquid with slightly fat aroma. It could be naturally found in suet.

Tributyrin is a triglyceride containing three butyrate molecules esterified to glycerol, augments butyrate concentrations after hydrolyzation by pancreatic lipases.  It is a kind of stable and rapid absorbed butyric acid precursor.

Main Usage in Food

 

1.Health care products raw material:
Tributyrin is functional as intestinal protection, liver protection and hematopoietic, to strengthen food nutrition.
Strengthening intestinal barrier function to protect intestinal health.
Enhancing hepatocyte mitochondria function and relieving insulin resistance.
Accelerating hemoglobin synthesis and alleviating symptoms such as anemia. 

 

2.Spices, spice excipients and solvents for spices as well:
As the effects of emulsifying, dispersing and anti-aging, tributyrin is a good emulsifier and dispersant.
Enhance emulsibility to prevent oil-water separation. Used as emulsifier and dispersant.
Increase dough strength and volume,improve dough structure, soften texture and prevent aging. 
Form complex with starch, prevent swelling loss and improve gelatinization properties of starch.
Used on bakery products and flour food. It could enhance the utilization of raw material and improve taste and flavor.
Used on aquatic products ,canned food,etc. It could strengthen tissue ,maintain fresh flavor and enhance taste.
Used as stabilizer for sauce and frozen dairy products.  
Used as dispersant for alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages.
Used on gelatin desserts, puddings and fillings, gummies, etc. It could improve taste and stability. 

 

Dosage

According to the Hygienic Standard for the Use of Food Additives in China ( GB2760-1996 ) : tributyrin can be used in all kinds of food, but use appropriately according to production needs.
